Guitar Lessons

MIGA Music student Sebastian playing guitar at our Recitals

6 Days a Week

Guitar lessons are most popular for our students. We tried to find out why, and invariably we get a uniform response from our students: “Guitar is the coolest instrument of all”. MIGA Music has been founded and built upon our initial success with guitar lessons. We have 2 guitar studios and 4 guitar teachers to meet the demand.

Appropriate Age

We usually recommend starting to take guitar lessons at the minimum age of 8. There are exceptions such as when younger children are adamant and keep asking their parents for a guitar or lessons. However, playing guitar does hurt the fingertips in the beginning. A player who is too young may not understand that this discomfort will go away in a few weeks and as such, he or she may be put off from playing the guitar.

Electric or Acoustic?

Do we really have to start out on an acoustic guitar? Well, not in all cases. Mature students can decide for themselves based on the style they want to play. However, children under 10 should definitely start with an acoustic guitar. You can expect to spend around $150 for an entry level acoustic guitar. If you don’t have a guitar yet, please visit our studios first as we will be able to advise you on where to rent or to buy a guitar and what size of guitar is needed.
